I see my work as an attempt to use lighting, technology and positioning to create a visually stimulating image. Rather than cautiously treading around the subject matter and thinking about what it could be, I focus on what it is. I enjoy experimenting, often finding different situations to apply my skills. For this series, I have no interest in using my images to present intricate thoughts or ideas. Through life experience, I have found that practice and persistence outside of traditional education truly refines an individual.
I want my viewers to question their position in society, to face their own prejudiced notions of societal norms and stereotypes, persuading them to delve deep into their subconscious and connect with my visual stories. Questioning their beliefs and why those beliefs persists in their respective communities. my work provides a resolving voice to this foundation and helps to reveals its potentially risky consequences.
